徳重（松本潤）の目の前で赤池（田中泯）が倒れた──。
赤池がバッド・キアリ症候群という難病を患い、心不全を起こしていることを見抜いた徳重は、魚虎総合病院に緊急搬送する。茶屋坂心（ファーストサマーウイカ）のオペにより一命を取り留めたものの、抜本的治療となる肝移植を行わなければ赤池の余命は一ヶ月程であるという残酷な診断が下される。
しかし、赤池は以降の治療を拒否。そして赤池の治療を願う徳重に対し、あろうことか「これから一言も喋らない」と宣言する。問診を武器とする総合診療医にとって、沈黙は何よりの痛手…。滝野（小芝風花）は赤池の本意がわからず苦悩するが、一方の徳重は冷静に動き始めていて…!?
「生きる意味」を問う患者に、総合診療医・徳重晃はどんな答えを出すのか──。
「人を診る医師」の物語がついに完結する！

◇ Episode 8 Synopsis
Right before Tokushige’s (Jun Matsumoto) eyes, Akaike (Min Tanaka) collapses.
Tokushige diagnoses Akaike with Budd–Chiari syndrome, a rare disease causing heart failure, and rushes him to Uotora General Hospital for emergency treatment. Thanks to surgery performed by Kokoro Chayasaka (First Summer Uika), Akaike survives, but the devastating truth is revealed: without a liver transplant—the only fundamental treatment—he has only about one month to live.
However, Akaike refuses further treatment. What’s more, in response to Tokushige’s plea to save him, Akaike declares, “From this moment, I won’t say another word.” For a general physician whose greatest weapon is conversation, this silence cuts deep. While Takino (Fuka Koshiba) struggles to understand Akaike’s true feelings, Tokushige quietly begins to take action…
What answer will Tokushige Akira, a general physician, give to a patient questioning the meaning of life?
The story of “a doctor who sees the whole person” reaches its conclusion!
